Identity theft and identity fraud are terms : a way to view identity theft crime against someone. Where Unidentified Person(s) wrongfully obtains/compiscates and uses another person's personal, by the term unauthorized, data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain.

The (federal) crime is aggravated identity theft - defined as : "Anyone who knowingly transfers, possesses, or uses, a means of identification of somebody shall, in addition to the felony penalties, will be sentenced to imprisonment of 2 years, or five years for terrorism as many unidunidentified identity theft criminals still walk the streets as law is unknowing to the multiple homicides just because of lies of identity theft by possibility the numerous homicide cases because of lies of unidentified identity theft cases.

A person's identity is everything to that person. So treat your identity as if, it is one of the worse things to be stolen in your life; because you don't want to find out too late that it really is one of the worse things to be stolen from you : "your identity".
